Delicious RibsJer's rubs and marinades are made from all natural ingredients -- muscovado brown sugar, kosher salt, spices, and herbs. Everything is mixed by hand in small batches. Quality is our number one priority.

Everything we ship must meet Jer's high standards of quality. He cooks with portions of each batch, and if it's not good enough for Jer, it doesn't get sold. It's that simple.

At this time, we offer two recipes of our (soon to be) famous dry rub and instant marinade -- the fantastic Original and a slightly hotter and less salty Spicy version. We have a low-sodium version in the works which will have half the salt of the Original, and in the far-off future, we may even start selling our amazing BBQ sauce.

Jer SmilingBased in the heart of the popular Ballard neighborhood in Seattle, Washington, Jeremy Young has spent the last nine years gleefully absorbing the food culture of the Pacific Northwest.

Discovering a particular affinity for the art of the barbeque, Jer focused on developing the perfect combinations of seasonings for a variety of meats, fish, and vegetables. Eventually, enough of his friends suggested folks would pay for something this good that Jer made the leap from foodie to small business owner and Jer's Rubs & Marinades was born.

When he's not working on new recipes or smoking meats with his current recipes, Jer loves to brew hoppy beers, relax with friends, and scratch his fat cat Yoda behind her ears.

General Directions: Because we don't add any fillers to our products, you may notice some caking or clumping. Don't worry, it's still perfectly good! Just give your rub a good shake or break it up with a spoon before using.

Regardless of the recipe, Original or Spicy, it doesn't take too much Jer's to give your food plenty of flavor. Here are some measurement suggestions for some common foods. Jer prefers a little more, but tastes vary, and these are good starting points:
Food Dry Rub Marinade
Country-Style Pork Ribs (2lbs) 2 tbsp 3 tbsp
Sirloin Steak (2 8oz steaks) 2 tsp 1-1.5 tbsp
Chicken Breasts (4 4oz portions) 1 tbsp 2 tbsp
King Salmon (2 6oz fillets) 1-2 tsp 1 tbsp

Dry Rub Directions: Lightly sprinkle your food on all sides. Gently rub the spices into your food until fully coated. Brush off the excess with a paper towel, then cook as normal.

Instant Marinade Directions: First off, what's an "instant marinade"? Well one special thing about our rub is that if you leave it on long enough, it will melt and combine with your food's natural juices to become a marinade, giving your meat, fish, or vegetables a deep infusion of flavor. Apply the rub as above but use a little more and donít brush off the excess. Place the food into plastic wrap, a zipper bag, or another drip-safe container. Refrigerate overnight or up to 36 hours. Pat dry with paper towels, then cook as normal.

All shipments to Canada are via first class mail, regardless of size, and can take up to 10 days to arrive. Shipping and handling is built into the prices listed below. Please note: We are currently shipping only to the US and Canada. If you are interested in ordering from another country, please email us with your country and desired quantities and we will do our best to get your order filled.
